A stunning view of Santorini, showcasing its iconic whitewashed buildings with blue domes perched on cliffs overlooking the deep blue Aegean Sea, with a vibrant sunset casting a warm glow over the picturesque landscape organized by a travel planner.

It's the iconic photo. The white buildings and cobalt dome lording above the azure sea. It's a view I never get tired of looking at. I lived in Greece for a while aboard at 93 foot double-masted schooner, sailing through the Sporades. This is when Greek food overtook Italian as my favorite.

During my time in Greece, I came across so many hidden gems. I've listed a few for you if you're the type of person that likes to go off the beaten track.

Discovering Hidden Gems in the Greek Isles

The Greek Isles, with their iconic landscapes and rich history, offer much more than the well-trodden paths of Santorini and Mykonos. For travelers seeking a more secluded and authentic experience, the hidden gems of the Greek Isles promise unforgettable adventures and serene beauty.

The small island of Kastellorizo, located near the Turkish coast, is a hidden paradise famous for its crystal-clear waters and colorful houses. Explore the Blue Cave, one of the largest sea caves in Greece, where the sunlight creates mesmerizing blue reflections on the water. Kastellorizo’s charming harbor and relaxed pace make it an ideal spot for those looking to unwind and immerse in local culture.

Kea’s traditional villages, such as Ioulida, offer a glimpse into authentic Greek island life, away from the crowds.
